Mainly untitled (secret during the War), one with caption - Attributions / conjectures
PXE 789 v.59 no. 6 - Frederick Augustine Crowe (1911-1992), right, of Gobarralong via Coolac on the Murrumbidgee River. Fred was a grazier and enlisted on 29 November 1939 [AWM 7 November], number NX1168. In this photograph he is embarking from Sydney and was sent to Quasatime near Jerusalem. His war years were spent in Haifa, Bardia, Cairo, Tobruk and Benghazi, then Greece where he was one of the last evacuated. Those left became prisoners of war.
Singapore fell before he was sent there, and he was posted to New Guinea, 1942-1943. He was demobbed in January 1944 and returned to the family property.
