    Built as Hyndes' windmill by 1829, adjacent to the Craigend Mansion, but separate to that estate. Sometimes erroneously referred to as Craigend Mill, although never known by that name. It was only referred to as Craigend Mill by later historians, ca 1900. It was later sometimes known as Hills Mill -- Information supplied by R.Madden (Mar 2007)
