The inscriptions for Nos. 1, 4, 5, 11, and 12 are faded and difficult to read.
Nos. 1 to 5, 7, 8, 10, and 13 of these watercolours appear to be the originals from which engravings were made for Lycett's, ""Views in Australia or New South Wales, and Van Diemen's Land delineated in fifty views with descriptive letterpress"", London, Souter, 1824 (M.L. F980.1/L)
No. 3 is similar to the lithograph, ""North East View of Hobart-Town, Van Diemen's Land. / J. Lycett"" (DG V6/10) and the watercolour drawing, ""[View of Hobart-Town, Van Diemen's Land], 1827 / J. Lycett"" (DG SV6/4).
Attached to the upper edge of No.7 was a newspaper clipping headed, ""Van Diemen's Land. Extract of a letter ... April 26, 1822"" which describes a journey to lakes about 75 miles from Hobart.
