William Charles Wentworth (1790-1872) was an explorer, author, barrister, landowner and statesman. In 1813, in company with William Lawson and Gregory Blaxland, he found a route over the Blue Mountains, opening up a vast area of land for grazing.
Fourteen page manuscript in Wentworth's hand. He describes in some detail the landscape, geology, climate and vegetation of the Blue Mountains, rather than the journey itself.
