  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Frank McDonald was one of Sydney's premier colonial art dealers during the 1970s and 1980s. He was director of the gallery named Thirty Victoria Street, located at 30 Victoria Street, Potts Point. He conducted and commissioned detailed research on the artists John Alexander Gilfillan (1793-1864), Augustus Earle (1793-1838) and Conrad Martens (1801-1878). This material includes biographical information on the artists' families, research into the artists' life and times, listings of their works in public and private collections, and conservation research into their paintings and frames.
