    In 1982 drawings were in possession of Mr N. Tully, Sydney (Reference: Pic.Acc.5263 Mitchell Library). Sold at Sotheby's, Sydney, 29 October 1987 lots 144-148.

  • General note

    Drawings are engraved in Louis de Freycinet, Voyage autor du monde : Execute sur les corvettes de S.M. l'Uraine et la Physicienne Atlas Historique, Paris 1825 plate 105 REF. ZML X980/20A Mitchell Library. In this plate the engraver has transposed Taran and Timbere's names.
    "Timbere" was issued as a lithograph in the French and English versions of Arago's account of the expedition -- "Timbere, Sauvage de la Nlle Galles du sud, en grand costume. (Relache au port Jackson.)" Promenade autour du monde Atlas Historique et Pittoresque, Paris 1822 REF. Q910.41/2A1 Mitchell Library -- "Timbere, a native of new south Wales, Taken when at port Jackson", Narrative of a voyage round the world, London 1823 opposite p.171 REF.Q910.41/2B2 Mitchell Library.
