    Note on verso of item PXA 4999 Box 1 No. 18130: "The Royal Hotel in Herbert Street can be picked out just to the right of the left hand font" ?
    Sawpit of Edward McGaurr on the slope of Church Hill, between Little Bayly and Belmore Streets looking northeast towards Herbert Street. The shingle roof of John Stomers house and the sign of the Royal Hotel can be seen just to the left of the right hand font. The saw pit can just be seen on the slope of the hill in Home & Away - 38752, between the Wesleyan Church and Rectory.
