    Sign on rear of Lewis' hut (LR plan #6) points to the Argus Office ref. item PXA 4999 Box 1 No. 18090
    John Bird Stormer the owner is fourth from the left, and the editor George Dunmore Lang is sixth from the left. The dog in the man's arms, left, belongs to Stormer. It can also be seen in the photograph of Stormer's house which was opposite, see Home & away - 38778. The Argus newspaper started in April 1872 and became Gulgong's third newspaper, but it outlasted its opposition by more than two years. -- Information supplied by Baldwin & Davis, Research Gulgong (July 2006)
